We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Team Leader to oversee our purchase ledger operations, and drive process improvements.You will manage the development and output of our Purchase Ledger team, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. Your direction and vision will motivate the team, helping them to organize their workload effectively and meet company deadlines.With a strong background in purchase ledger or accounts payable, you bring proven leadership experience and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Your keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills will help ensure accuracy and efficiency in every transaction.Proficient in accounting software and Excel, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating effectively with stakeholders to drive seamless financial operations. The Impact of the RoleAs the Purchase Team Leader, you will play a key role leading the purchase ledger team, managing daily operations efficiently, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of their financial transactions.What you will do:
  • Lead and motivate a team of purchase ledger clerks, ensuring high performance through regular support, training, and reviews.
  • Oversee the end-to-end purchase ledger process, managing invoices, expenses, and payment runs with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Drive process improvements, implement best practices, and collaborate with finance to refine policies.
  • Prepare key reports, analyse financial data, and provide insights to senior management. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless financial operations.
Your AttributesYou will have:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable roles, extensive experience in a leadership/management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong system skills, including Excel, databases, and reporting tools
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
