Part of a Multi-National Group, Mitsui Components Europe Ltd are an established, world leading manufacturer of high specification door locking systems for the automotive industry.

The Role



We are looking for a highly motivated, talented Purchasing Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the role is responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of materials through the company supply chain.

The ideal candidate will have purchasing and materials planning experience ideally from the automotive industry, however, appropriate qualifications, experience and a professional attitude will be equally beneficial.

The role will include all aspects of the Purchase Order Cycle, with key responsibilities including:



Booking and Receiving information via SAP. General purchasing administration and data maintenance. Ability to Interrogate customer forecast information. Interpreting system demand for the raising and issuing purchase orders to suppliers from SAP/ ERP system. Monitoring and tracking purchase order status to achieve 100% OTIF delivery. Booking transportation for collection of supplier goods and delivery. Tracking over sea container shipments to UK port via web portals and updating tracker daily. Plan and manage inventory levels of supplier parts and materials to ensure 100% availability to production. SAP master maintenance including Bill on Materials.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following specific skills, experience and knowledge:



Experience of MRP/ERP systems, inventory planning, forecasting and Bill of Materials management. Confident in the use of spread sheet and data manipulation with in excel. Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects/situations. Able to monitor and improve supplier performance and practice. A confident communicator both in person and over the phone. Ability to build strong relationships to bring about supportive supplier behaviour. Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft office would be a distinct advantage. Customer and results focused. Working towards CIPS / APICS/ CILT qualification desirable but not essential.
Working hours Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:45, Friday 08:00 - 13:30.
