We\xe2\x80\x99re on the look for a Purchasing Administrator for a very successful and well-established global company based in Berkhamsted, to work closely with their Buyer and the Operations department.

Ideally, we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for people that have some form of buying, purchasing or even sales administration/order processing experience that could relate to some aspects of this role from the get-go.

We are very open to seeing people that are only available on a permanent basis and have notice to see out, although if you are available right away or at short notice, this company would consider taking someone on temp to perm as another option.

This position is based in their Berkhamsted offices, free parking on site and just off the high street, only a 10 minute walk from the train station.

Hours are either 8am \xe2\x80\x93 5pm (with a 1-hour break) or 8:30am \xe2\x80\x93 5pm (with a half an hour break), working Monday to Friday, fully office based but they are flexible to allow people to work from home when required.

This role is paying \xc2\xa325,000 to \xc2\xa330,000 for someone with proven experience in Purchasing or Buying.

What to expect day to day?:

  • Process orders for shipping, providing accurate documentation in accordance with relevant legislation, customer and carrier requirements.
  • To ensure all customers receive full, accurate & on time orders.
  • Receive and book goods in to correct locations in an accurate and timely manner, liaising with intercompany and planning teams for any discrepancies or quality issues.
  • Deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and processes involved in the day-to-day delivery of goods.
  • Support and suggest the effective management of inward & outward flow of inventory.
  • Encompass aspects of receiving goods, stock handling, stock locating, picking of works orders, cycle counting.
  • Ensure that the execution of the dispatch sequence is maintained within the required dates.
  • Ensure all aspects of the Dangerous Goods Act are fulfilled.
  • Work closely with the Buying Department & Production Supervisor to ensure goods arrive on time for stock and manufacture.
  • Chase up \xe2\x80\x9cSub-Contract\xe2\x80\x9d operations to ensure they are on site for the Production Schedule.
  • Chasing of UK, Far East & European suppliers for delivery dates and feeding information internally to the correct departments for any delays.
  • Updating of Spreadsheets and ERP system.
  • Actively involved in the on-time kitting of works orders and replenishment of line side stock.
  • Actively involved in maintaining batch and stock location accuracy on company software and ensuring tight stock control and stock rotation.
  • You will be required to ensure that good housekeeping and health and safety regulations are adhered to within the work area. To contribute, be involved in and actively support the continuous improvement process within every facet of the department.
  • Liasing with various factories in the UK and Globally to request costings, updating internal system and keeping the necessary department updated.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting the Buyer with various tasks.
  • Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications.
What do we need from you?:
  • Previous buying or purchasing administration experience would be of huge use but no means essential.
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems again advantageous.
  • Appreciation of Goods In/Stores disciplines.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Health and Safety awareness in warehouse environment.
  • Pro-active nature, willing to learn quickly and take new challenges.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team working skills across disciplines and departments.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Organisational Skills.
  • Energetic and hands-on.
