We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
Assist in the procurement of goods and services by processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate records.
Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Utilise purchasing systems to manage inventory levels and track orders.
Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products.
Monitor stock levels and liase efficiently with internal teams to avoid shortages or excess stock
Support the development of supplier relationships to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Prepare reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance for management review.
Administrative Support:
Assist in maintaining supplier records, processing invoices, and handling any queries related to orders or pricing discrepancies.
Work closely with the sales, marketing, and production teams to ensure that purchasing decisions align with company goals and customer needs.
Experience
Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is not essential.
Familiarity with supply chain processes and logistics management is beneficial.
Proficient in using basic Microsoft software : Outlook, Excel, Word.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
A willingness to learn and develop skills with support of colleagues.
