We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Grantham. Following significant investment in their production facilities and infrastructure, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing & Procurement Manager to lead their procurement function.
At the forefront of their market, the business is driving innovation with new technology -- including a state-of-the-art welding robot going into production next week -- making this a fantastic time to join and shape the future of their supply chain.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional with a strong engineering background to step into a high-impact role, managing a large spend and playing a key part in the continued growth of the organisation.
Reporting into the Supply Chain Director, you'll take full responsibility for the purchasing function, leading a team of two and overseeing a 25m annual budget across a supply chain of more than 100 suppliers.
Your expertise in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost control will be vital in ensuring that materials, components, and services are delivered effectively to meet production demands.
This is a role for someone who thrives on accountability, enjoys building strong supplier relationships, and can balance strategic vision with hands-on leadership.
What We're Looking For
10+ years' experience in procurement/purchasing within engineering or manufacturing.
A solid technical background with the ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
Proven ability to manage high-value procurement and supplier relationships.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and data reporting.
Strong commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
CIPS Level 4 qualification (essential).
