We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive

Purchasing Officer

to provide high-quality financial and administrative support within a busy operations environment. This role involves managing high-value transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.


The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of 16.92 per hour + holiday pay

Key Responsibilities:

Process high-value purchase orders and requisitions in the Oracle Financial system. Support overseas programmes by acting as R12 shopper and advising on tendering documentation and processes. Ensure all transactions comply with internal and external financial regulations. Review and manage requisitions, order closures, and cancellations promptly. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental financial procedures. Liaise with finance teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure timely financial processing. Produce and present data and reports to support operational reviews and decision-making. Support the setup of Oracle Shopper access and maintain accurate system data and records. Conduct site visits to engage with end users and provide purchasing support.

Selection Criteria:

Experience in financial administration or a similar purchasing role. Proficiency in computerised financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels. Experience producing and interpreting financial reports. Ability to apply financial policies effectively and consistently. Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent), with proven numerical ability.
