We are a family-owned precision engineering business based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, specialising in the design and manufacture of pressure-rated components for the Oil & Gas industry.
We are seeking a Purchasing & Sales Coordinator to join our established team on a permanent basis (however reduced hours will be considered). This is a varied support role within the business, assisting with customer enquiries, sales order processing and purchasing activities, and working closely with engineering, quality and production teams to ensure the smooth progression of work.
This role would suit someone with experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment who is organised, reliable and comfortable supporting multiple activities at the same time.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting day-to-day communication with customers, responding to enquiries and providing order updates
Recording incoming sales enquiries and preparing documentation for technical and commercial review
Processing sales orders and maintaining works order schedules
Assisting with delivery planning and liaising internally to support on-time delivery
Obtaining raw material and component pricing to support job costing
Raising purchase requisitions and assisting with supplier coordination
Supporting the preparation of manufacturing route cards and production paperwork for review by the Quality team
Assisting with the compilation of documentation and data packs
Providing general administrative support to the office and wider team as required

About You
You will ideally demonstrate:
Previous experience in purchasing and/or sales administration, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment
A good standard of IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
A methodical and organised approach with good attention to detail
The ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a small team
Confidence to work on your own initiative once trained
What We Offer
Salary FTE Circa 14.50 per hour, dependant on experience. 39 hours per week, 5 days
Pro-rated for reduced hours (minimum 4 days per week considered for the right candidate).
Overtime available as required.

Additional Information
Education: Minimum of
GCSEs (or equivalent), with passes in English and Maths
required.
