Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced
Purchasing Supervisor
within the engineering department to be based at Humberside Airport.
As a key procurement specialist, you will be responsible for strategically sourcing and purchasing engineering products and services from both UK and global suppliers. This role offers you the opportunity to influence company-wide procurement practices across diverse engineering categories and international supply markets.
Responsibilities
Responsible for a variety of activities within the Supply Chain Lifecycle; sourcing, negotiating, placing & managing contracts,
Overseeing worldwide market enquiry and purchasing from known and new suppliers for procurement and sales of aircraft parts, tools, materials, consumables and services for the maintenance of Eastern Airways aircraft, and able to lead negotiations & selection of 'best buy' with suppliers (based on cost, quality, technical requirements, delivery time and reliability of suppliers).
Serving as a point of contact for procurement enquiries within the working day and within reason, out of hours as well.
Able to identify, assess and qualify new suppliers, and create and manage contractual documentation using digital purchasing systems.
Ensuring that progress chasing is carried out to ensure timely delivery of all procured goods and spares.
Willing to collaborate and ensure effective communication with colleagues across engineering and compliance relating to requirements and standards to problem solve to achieve project milestones.
Developing and maintaining procedures to ensure that stock levels of regularly used aircraft spares are appropriate across all bases.
Make visits to third party company businesses, customers and sites as appropriate, to develop working relations to ensure stores/logistics business development.
Involved with cross-functional continual improvement initiatives which promote value to Eastern Airways.
Requirements
Must have experience within the Aviation or Automotive industry
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have experience in Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Contract Management
Have strong organisational and time management skills
Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation skills
Strong analytical capabilities with proven abilities to interpret procurement data and insights
Capable of thriving in a dynamic, high-energy team environment
Adaptable to travel to various sites across the UK as needed
Will have knowledge of the integrated supply chain and database systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel, as needed.
