About the role

At ASOS, we take real pride in our best-in-class microservices architecture, whilst sticking to the ASOS values of Authentic, Brave, Creative, and Disciplined, and we\'re looking for a QA Engineer to support and deliver the on-going software which makes ASOS awesome!

We operate at hyper-scale receiving thousands of requests per second, and as QA Engineer in one of our 30 engineering platforms you\'ll work as part of strong cross functional Agile teams contributing towards the quality, testing and technology bringing your skills and experience to share with the team. From problem solving to new concept ideas, you have the genuine opportunity to unleash your full potential and creativity on a variety of ASOS software projects.

What you\'ll be doing

As part of the Integration, Customs, and Returns platform, you will:

  • Work with Engineers to deliver well-crafted products, and also closely with Project Managers & Test Leads.
  • Strive for continuous improvement across our features and technologies, and always think about the customer.
  • Learn from your peers through pairing and knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Educate the team on testing practices, and support them in adopting new tools and practices.
  • Contribute to ensuring the right test tooling and frameworks and practices are in place (e.g. shift-left/shift-right) to help the teams to deliver against the business goals.
  • Work across platform teams and with external stakeholders/third parties to carry out various levels of testing.
  • Working to ensure the software delivered is appropriately tested.
  • Supporting our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies

  • Testing tools such as NUnit, NCrunch, Postman, JMeter, Fiddler, RestSharp
  • .NET Framework, .NET Core, and C#
  • Azure DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines
  • Microsoft Azure
  • NService Bus, Azure Service Bus
  • Cosmos DB
  • SQL Server
Qualifications

Who we\'d like to meet

We\'re looking for someone who can help us to improve, someone who will turn left when others turn right, and someone who can offer a unique lens on testing and quality.
  • You have experience with .NET and C#, Azure DevOps, and CICD pipelines.
  • Competent with Cloud computing.
  • You\'re a strong tester having worked with APIs, Databases, Service Bus, Microservices
  • You\'ve worked with automation frameworks, and can differentiate between test levels and types.
  • You\'re able to talk through the Application Architecture.
  • You have played an integral part in an Agile team, working closely with a variety of stakeholders.
  • You have a firm understanding of the SDLC framework including UAT, SIT, E2E testing, Defect management, BAU, and hyper care support.
  • You\'re confident with Test Planning including test estimation and risk-based testing.
