Our global headquarters in Birmingham is home to our dedicated paper manufacturing division providing a wide range of food packaging products for the likes of McDonalds, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Greggs.
We are now seeking a Quality Technician to join our Quality Team to oversee different areas of quality. This will include goods in, ensuring procedures and specifications are met, compliance with Quality standards, returns, complaints and supplier compliance.

About the role - Quality Technician
The Quality Technician will be trained to develop an understanding of quality across all areas of the business. Reviewing the quality of goods as they come into the business, ensuring they meet specifications. Completion and maintenance of company and customer specifications. Ensuring returns and complaints are handled effectively and assisting with supplier compliance.
Key Accountabilities - Quality Technician:
Inspection of incoming goods
Technical testing as required
Approval of product samples
Assisting in improvements to the QMS in compliance with BRCGS
Handling of complaints / root cause investigations
Maintaining complaints system and ensuring quick progression through each stage
Liaising with suppliers and colleagues
Recording of results and report writing
Use of Quick Base, SAP and standard computer packages
Completion of Euro Packaging specifications and customers own format specification
Completion of QA/Technical based queries from internal and external sources
Assisting in supplier compliance
Control of blocked stock and returns
Control of FSC artwork
Key requirements - Quality Technician:
Experience of working in quality, ideally in a warehouse / retail environment
Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions would be an advantage
Working with customers and suppliers
The ability to plan and prioritise workload
The ability to communicate effectively
To be accurate and detailed
Experience of Word and Excel
The ability to work alone but also to be a team player
Experience in SAP / BRCGS Packaging standards would be an advantage
Understanding of ISO:9001
Working against procedures and specifications
