QA Tester / Junior Software Engineer

is an established and dynamic company supplying gambling products into the high street, casinos, cruise ships and the online gaming space.
Due to expansion Wexel Gaming are now looking to recruit a
QA Tester with a strong technical mindset
, who enjoys improving software quality end-to-end. This role is ideal for someone who primarily focuses on
testing and quality assurance
, but is also comfortable
writing some code
, reviewing pull requests, and working closely with developers to improve how software is built.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our applications are reliable, well-tested, and maintainable, while contributing directly to the development process where appropriate.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Design, execute, and maintain
manual and automated tests
Create and improve
test plans, test cases, and test documentation
Identify, log, and track defects through to resolution
Work closely with developers to
review pull requests (PRs)
for quality, readability, and test coverage
Write
small features, test utilities, or bug fixes
as needed
Help improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing coverage
Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Champion quality and best practices across the team
A successful applicant should have:
a degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience
Good understanding of
software development principles
Experience with
manual testing
and at least one form of
automated testing
Ability to read, understand, and review code
Familiarity with
Git
and pull request workflows
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Some hands-on experience writing software in C# and JavaScript / TypeScript, Python
Additional Bonus Skills:
