As a well-established Civil Engineering Company founded in 1972, we are now expanding our dynamic team and looking for a Quality Control Assistant to support the technical operations of our fast-paced construction materials testing department. Based at our UKAS-accredited laboratory in Chapelhall, Airdrie, this role offers hands-on experience in a professional testing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a keen eye for detail, strong IT proficiency, and a proactive mindset to help maintain the high standards our clients rely on.
The role is based in our Materials Testing Laboratory in Chapelhall - working hours are Monday -Friday 8am -5pm, full-time, permanent. Due to location own transport is desirable.
Duties for this role will include: -
Complete calibrations and fit for use checks of various test apparatus.
Organise and liaise with external support services.
Assisting with the work of fellow colleagues as required and communicating appropriately with internal and external contacts.
Create and maintain written records, ensuring documentation is filed and stored appropriately.
Updating and maintaining spreadsheets/databases with routine reviews.
Ensuring registers and programmed works are completed on a timely manner to facilitate the smooth operation of the materials laboratory.
Record and organise laboratory consumables to ensure stocks are replenished when required.
Experience/Skills Required: -
IT literate with proficient skills in Microsoft office.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Ability to prioritise work load and work with changing priorities.
Able to carry out manual handling tasks
