Role Description
The QC Scientist will conduct analyses of plant based pharmaceutical active ingredients (APIs) using GCMS and HPLC-UV instrumentation. Their testing will support the cultivation, extraction, and downstream processing performed at the GMP production site.
Job Responsibilities:
Performing testing of plant sourced molecules according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Preparation of working solutions, mobile phases and reagents.
Documentation of work following GMP and data integrity requirements.
Carry out routine maintenance, verification and calibration of instrumentation (GCMS, HPLC-UV, Density Meter).
Ensuring laboratory stock and consumables are maintained to prevent delays in testing.
Participating in internal audits and supporting regulatory inspections as needed.
Involvement in data review and process improvement/optimization.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including QA and production.
Desired Experience and Skills:
A degree in Chemistry (or a related subject), and/or relevant laboratory experience.
Experience in working in compliance with quality regulations, ideally GMP.
Understanding of safe laboratory practices: COSHH, risk assessments, PPE etc.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve analytical issues.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
Willingness to learn and contribute to the development of new procedures
Salary: 30,000-32,000 Depending On Experience
