About the Company:

Unigel (UK) Limited is a leading manufacturer of oil-based thixotropic gels for the fibre optic cable industry, with manufacturing facilities in the UK, USA, and Malaysia. We are currently seeking a QC/QA Associate Technician to join our team in Eastbourne.

About the Role:

Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00

Working Location: Onsite

We are recruiting a QC & QA Associate Technician to ensure laboratory testing, analysis and documentation meet Unigel's stringent standards for quality, safety and regulatory compliance. The QC & QA Associate Technician will support the Technical Department by verifying product integrity, issuing and maintaining accurate records and troubleshooting deviations, thereby underpinning customer confidence and ensuring audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and non-routine chemical, physical, and material tests on raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

Conducttrend analysis on QC data to monitor product consistency and detect anomalies.

Operate and maintain laboratory instruments according to SOPs and SAMs.

Issue, check and archive Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) for all manufacturing plants.

Record test results in compliance with ISO 9001:2015

Maintain traceable, well-organised laboratory records to support audits and customer requirements.

Identify, report and investigate non-conformances.

Collaborate with technical and production teams to implement improvements.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in workflow and testing protocols.

Adhere to laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling regulations.

Ensure compliance with Unigel's internal quality systems and regulatory requirements

About You:

Experience in laboratory and/or production environment, regulatory and documentation Strong attention to detail Problem-solving mindset with ability to troubleshoot test deviations Team-oriented, adaptable and proactive in supporting workflow optimisation Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Familiarity with analytical chemistry and physical techniques and data analysis Ability to effectively prioritise, manage and deliver workload Other related work responsibilities may also be assigned by the company as needed
