We are looking to appoint an inspirational Early Years or Primary Teacher to join our nursery team working with our 3 and 4 year olds across our Highbury nursery. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced (QTS) teacher to work with a dedicated and skillful team to shape pedagogy within our two settings, and maintain the excellent standard of early years education we offer.

We are also hoping the teacher will take on the role of SENDCo across our two nurseries. If you are interested in SEND, but do not hold a relevant qualification, we would be happy to support you to undertake the Level 3 award. Time to carry out SENDCo duties would be set aside during the working week; although the time in nursery equates to long days (8am to 6pm), no additional work is required outside these hours. All planning, non-contact time, paperwork and preparation happens within these hours.

About Little Angels

Established in 1991, Little Angels consists of two privately owned, family run settings, each with approximately 75 places for children aged 5 months to 5 years. We have dedicated spaces for our older children so small group sessions can be planned and delivered. The nursery is well resourced and has a large outdoor, covered space offering a range of opportunities for exploration, investigation and play.

Job Outline

The role involves working with Senior staff and TA and EYT to shape pedagogy in the setting; planning and implementing a curriculum based on the EYFS which supports children's learning and development. You will be responsible for working with the practitioner team and senior members of staff to ensure effective implementation of our play based, child-led curriculum. In addition to planning and directing sessions, responsibilities may include attending planning meetings, assisting with INSET training days, maintaining children's folders/scrapbooks, carrying out children's observations on our in-house system and writing transfer records. You will also be expected to assist junior practitioners, maintain best practice and encourage sustained shared thinking between adults and children.

Above all, we are looking for a creative and innovative Teacher with a passion for learning.

You must have QTS to be considered for this position, and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
