We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT)
to join our pharmacy team. The ACT will be responsible for conducting the final accuracy check of dispensed prescriptions, ensuring they meet all legal, clinical, and safety standards. This role plays a vital part in supporting the pharmacist and enhancing patient safety by allowing greater focus on clinical care. The successful candidate will be a registered pharmacy technician with ACT accreditation and a strong commitment to excellence in pharmacy practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal SOPs.
Ensure all items are dispensed, labeled, and packaged accurately before supply to patients.
Identify and report any dispensing errors or discrepancies promptly.
Assist with the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medication as required.
Support stock management including ordering, rotation, and expiry date monitoring.
Maintain accurate records of checks performed and ensure full compliance with pharmacy legislation.
Work collaboratively with pharmacists, dispensers, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient pharmacy operations.
Provide training and mentoring to junior staff and support team development.
Uphold patient confidentiality and deliver excellent customer service when interacting with patients.
Qualifications & Experience:
GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician (or equivalent regulatory body).
Accredited ACT qualification.
Minimum experience in a pharmacy setting (community or hospital).
Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, ethics, and medicines.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Confident in using pharmacy IT systems and record-keeping.

Pay: 14.00-15.50 per hour
