qualified and experienced Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT)
to join our growing team.
This role focuses on
prescription verification and accuracy checks in a non-retail setting
, supporting digital dispensing workflows, logistics coordination, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out final accuracy checks on prescriptions assembled by dispensers and technicians in line with GPhC standards and internal SOPs.
Ensure medication, strength, quantity, and patient details are correct prior to dispatch.
Work closely with prescribers, dispensers, and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate processing of orders.
Support the team in managing cold-chain and ambient deliveries, ensuring packaging and storage meet MHRA and GPhC standards.
Oversee stock accuracy, expiry date monitoring, and reporting of discrepancies.
Maintain digital records of accuracy checks and ensure full compliance with audit requirements.
Communicate clearly with patients via email or phone to resolve prescription queries (no retail counter).
Identify and escalate clinical concerns to the responsible pharmacist where required.
Ensure the dispensary environment meets GPhC and SOP hygiene standards, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and patient safety.
Keep up to date with GPhC guidance, MHRA requirements, and best practices for distance-selling pharmacies.
Requirements
GPhC-accredited Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification (essential).
Prior experience in a distance-selling or online pharmacy (desirable).
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Good IT literacy and familiarity with PMR systems.
Strong communication skills, especially in a non face-to-face setting (phone, email, ticketing).
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dispensing hub with clear documentation and prioritisation.
A team player with a professional, patient-focused attitude.
Flexibility to work shifts, including some weekends if required.
