Job Description

The Urgent & Emergency Care CBU is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Advanced Practitioner with a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, to join our established Ambulatory Care Unit.



Applications are welcome from appropriately experienced registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals (AHP) and Pharmacists. The Emergency Department Ambulatory Care Unit is designed to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions by ensuring patients receive timely, effective care in the most appropriate setting. As the advanced practitioner, you will autonomously assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions, delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care.



The Qualified Advanced Practitioner will provide pivotal high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals presenting with acute but non-life-threatening conditions. Working autonomously, they are responsible for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, investigations/interpretation, prescribing appropriate treatment, and the safe discharge planning of patients within the ED Ambulatory Care Unit.



Daily activities include clinical decision-making, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and initiating appropriate management plans. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions through the application of evidence-based practice.



We are looking for a compassionate, forward-thinking motivated professional from a nursing, AHP or GPHc background with significant experience of the emergency department and ambulatory care who can demonstrate:



Essential:



Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist with active NMC, HCPC or GPhC Registration Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice V300 qualification

Extensive experience as a qualified advanced clinical practitioner within Emergency care / Ambulatory care

Evidence of research experience

Formal teaching experience



Essential:



Highly experienced in complex reasoning and prioritisation skills, across clinical and staffing requirements with advanced practice in the ambulatory department.

Highly experienced at disseminating and presenting complex information using both verbal and written disciplines across a broad range of clinical and non-clinical activities.

Persistent engagement in self-driven CPD that can be evidenced
