We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and hardworking Dental Nurse to join our well-respected team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality dental services. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong organisational ability, and proficiency in dental software Exact/SOE to manage patient records and appointments effectively.
Duties
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring that the patient is comfortable and informed throughout the process.
Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment, adhering to strict Infection control procedures and the HTM 01-05.
Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and medical histories, using Exact/SOE software.
Managing and maintaining appropriate dental materials and stock levels
Handling stock orders
Communicate effectively with patients.
Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up reminders to optimise patient flow within the practice.
Support the dental team in maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Support the patient and their colleagues if there is a medical emergency
Stay updated with advancements in dental practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
May be required to cover reception / admin duties
Expected to maintain effective infection control within clinical area, including brooming and mopping surgery
Requirements
Qualified Dental Nurse with relevant certification, GDC registration and relevant indemnity in place.
Staying up to date with current NHS guidelines and up to date with CPDs.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
Excellent team working skills
Effective timekeeping
Proficient IT skills for managing electronic patient records and scheduling systems.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A compassionate approach towards patient care, ensuring comfort and understanding at all times.
At least two years experience as a qualified nurse.
