Position: Qualified Surgical Dental Nurse - Employed Role
We are hiring a dental nurse for The Avenue Smile Clinic, a busy practice set in the town of Colchester. This is an exciting opportunity for abright and enthusiastic dental nurse to join our successful team.
We are looking for an experienced, qualified nurse
with a minimum of 2 years' experience, who has
surgical skills
. We are looking for someone with motivation and excellent organisational skills, who works well under pressure, to lead a small team. To do well in this role, you should be able to provide a great level of patient care, show leadership skills and initiative.
The Dental Nurse will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the practice, providing both clinical and administrative support. The successful candidate will provide nursing for our
specialist dentists
, oversee the dental nursing team, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and deliver exceptional patient care.
Hours:
Mondays - Thursdays, 8 hours/day
Key Responsibilities:
Assist dentists, therapists and hygienists during a variety of treatment procedures.
Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, including sterilisation of instruments.
Ensure patient comfort and manage patient anxiety.
Be able to carry out (or willing to receive training in) taking alginate impressions, ITero scanning patients and taking radiographs.
Record accurate patient medical histories and maintain detailed patient records.
Provide postoperative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
Attend regular team meetings and training sessions.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and health and safety regulations.
Liaise with the lead dental nurse, practice manager and dentists to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Dental Nurse Requirements:
GDC (General Dental Council) registered dental nurse.
Minimum of 2 years of dental nursing experience.
Surgical skills - periodontal and implant surgery
Excellent knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using dental practice management software.
