We are seeking a qualified and experienced Gymnastics Coach to join our friendly and professional coaching team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and young people, delivering high-quality coaching in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging gymnastics sessions in line with programme objectives and ability levels.
Teach and develop core gymnastics skills including floor, vault, beam and apparatus-based activities (as appropriate to level).
Use safe progressions, spotting techniques and correct form to support athlete development.
Adapt session plans to meet the needs of mixed ages and abilities.
Create a positive, motivating learning environment that builds confidence and enjoyment.
Ensure all activities follow safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare policies.
Monitor and track participant progress, offering constructive feedback to athletes and parents where appropriate.
Assist with class set-up, equipment checks, and safe pack-down.
Contribute to events, camps, displays or competitions where required.
Essential Requirements
Recognised Gymnastics Coaching Qualification (e.g., British Gymnastics, USASF, IGA or equivalent).
Previous experience coaching children or young people in a club, school, or camp setting.
Strong knowledge of safe progressions and technical fundamentals.
Excellent communication, patience, and positive leadership skills.
Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and child wellbeing.
Desirable (not essential)
First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.
Experience working in recreational, development or pre-competitive programmes.
Experience mentoring junior coaches or assistants.
