Jo Jo's Day Care Nursery Limited - Canterbury are currently recruiting for experienced Nursery Practitioner to work in a 'Brand New Early Years Setting' in Canterbury, Kent.

We currently run a nursery setting in Herne Bay and is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted. This is a very well known setting in the area and has been operating since 2008.

We are looking for team players to work along side other qualified and experienced staff to make sure the new opening will run smoothly and effectively for all the new families that have already started on 16th June.

The successful applicant will be passionate about working in childcare.

You will have the experience of working in a busy nursery or early years environment and have a good understanding of best practice.

You will be a self-motivated, flexible individual, who can work well within a team or on your own.

There will be full time and part time positions available, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, all year round.

We have practitioner role in the preschool, toddler and baby room, which is full from September 2025!

This is NOT a Term Time Only position.

Skills and experience:



Minimum CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent

A minimum of 2 years' experience of working in a day care setting as a practitioner and preferably experience in your chosen age group.

Previous experience of working with babies for 2 years (If wanting to work with under 2's)

An understanding of how children learn, and the early learning goals.

A passion to provide high quality childcare.

A passion to care, nurture and support each individual child.

A positive approach to your own professional development.

Good written and verbal skills - for report writing, maintaining written records and sharing information with parents and colleagues.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:



Planning and delivering activities, along side planning in the moment.

Being a key worker and completing children profile's .

Sharing information about your key child's development with parents or carers.

Taking children on outings; completing risk assessments.

Personal care routines.

Observing children and writing reports.

Making sure children are happy, safe and well.

Personal qualities:



An ability to plan and prepare exciting and challenging activities for individuals and groups of children to promote their learning.

Flexibility

Excellent communication skills; with children, parents/carers and colleagues

Punctuality

Reliable and trustworthy

Confidence, commitment, enthusiasm and warmth - ensuring the children get the best care and start to their early learning.

An ability to work as part of a team

You will need to demonstrate:



A commitment to the company ethos of valuing children's uniqueness and promoting partnership working

A basic knowledge of other relevant legislation including the Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire, Equalities etc

An ability to effectively prioritise your work and manage your time to meet targets and deadlines.

An ability to ensure that all company policies and procedures are implemented to the highest standards

Effective communication skills and Outstanding customer service skills

Pay: 10.00-13.00 per hour
