Qualified or Trainee Dental Nurse

to join our friendly team, due to maternity leave and additional staffing needs. We are a supportive practice that utilises skill mix and we are happy to support development opportunities. Extended dental nursing duties welcome and we are happy to support further training in Radiography, Implants, Oral Health Education, impression taking, etc. For Trainees all training provided both in house and with an accredited provider leading to an approved qualification and GDC registration.

The post is a

permanent part time role

.

We are looking for a dental nurse to cover a Thursday 8.45am - 5pm and Friday 7.45am - 3pm - minimum of 14 hrs but with option to also cover a Monday 8.45am - 6pm and/or a Tuesday 8.45am - 5pm

to provide flexibility in number of days and hours. If there is interest there may also be the opportunity for more extended working hours on a Thursday for an experienced dental nurse which would be a 7.45am - 8pm day with breaks and lunch break to support extended working hours for clinicians working condensed hours and providing more flexibility to our patients.

Please note

trainee dental nurses are required to work a minimum of 3 days per week

to ensure they have sufficient working hours experience.

The applicant should be a highly motivated individual who is friendly, well organised and adaptable, to work alongside our dental team to provide an excellent standard of patient care.

Salary:

Salary is

dependent on experience

Starting from NLW 12.21/hour for trainee nurse (rising in April 2026). Dependent on experience.

Starting from 13.50/hour for Qualified Nurses - dependent on experience. Increased

pay for extended duties qualified dental nurse. Salary negotiable and can be discussed at interview.

Main duties:

Supporting our clinicians in the provision of a high standard of dental care. Using computerised notes and dental practice management software. Decontamination of dental instruments and equipment. Assist on reception as needed

About us:

We are a busy

family run independent dental practice

offering both Private and Denplan care to patients in Chepstow and the surrounding areas. We are located with good travel links from the M48 and there is plenty of onsite/street parking.

The practice is a modern spacious facility and has six surgeries and additional treatment rooms. There are 5 dentists, 2 Dental Therapists and a Dental Hygienist. Not forgetting our friendly dental nurse and reception team. We also utilise an OHE and Radiography extended duties Dental Nurse who works as a clinician supporting patient care as part of the varied skill mix used to benefit both the patients and the practice.

There are

lots of opportunities for development as a dental nurse

and we will always consider training nurses in extended duties/ additional roles such as impression taking, implants, radiography and oral health education. If there is an area you are interested please let us know.

We offer a

wide range of treatments including Cosmetic dentistry, Cosmetic Orthodontics - Invisalign, and Implants

. We also have visiting dentists providing

endodontic

treatment within the practice. We are always looking for ways to improve and modernise. We have 2 itero scanners and a CBCT.
