The Plumber specialising in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) is responsible for the installation, and repair of plumbing systems associated with air source heat pump systems. This includes working with domestic heating systems, water distribution, and other plumbing components that integrate with renewable heating technologies. The role demands strong technical expertise in plumbing and heating systems, along with prefered knowledge of air source heat pumps.

The specialist ensures installations meet the required standards of performance and energy efficiency, following environmental and regulatory standards. This role plays a vital part in reducing carbon footprints through efficient heating solutions.

Key Responsibilities

:

Installation and Commissioning

: Install air source heat pumps and associated plumbing systems (pipework, hot water tanks, etc.), ensuring correct alignment, connection, and operation of all components.

System Integration

:
Integrate air source heat pump systems with existing domestic or commercial plumbing and heating systems, including radiators, underfloor heating, and hot water systems.

Compliance & Safety

:
Ensure all installations comply with building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards. Follow guidelines for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.Provide technical guidance and advice to customers on the benefits, operation, and maintenance of air source heat pumps. Offer after-care service and troubleshoot customer concerns.Complete necessary documentation including work reports, compliance certificates, and system commissioning records. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.Stay updated on the latest air source heat pump technologies and best practices in plumbing and renewable heating solutions. Attend relevant training and certifications as required.

Essential

Minimum 1 year experience in Air Source Heat Pumps. Valid UK Driving Licence NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent. Experience in plumbing installations, including pipework, heating, and domestic water systems. Previous experience with renewable energy technologies, specifically air source heat pumps. Valid Gas Safe or other relevant certifications (if applicable).

Desirable

City & Guilds or other qualifications specific to renewable energy or heat pump installations. F-Gas certification. Manufacturer-specific training on air source heat pump systems.

Working Conditions

:

Primarily field-based with travel to customer sites (domestic, commercial, industrial). Exposure to varying weather conditions when working outdoors during installations or repairs.

Pay: 19.00-21.00 per hour
