The Candidate
We require a individual with a minimum NVQ Level 3/4 in Residential care, with experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting (or equivalent) and who have at least 1 years' experience of working in a Children's Home.
Candidates would preferably have a full driving licence and be able to provide two work references and as this is a regulated activity, a clear Enhanced DBS for working with children is essential.

As part of the care team, you will consistently provide a high-quality care experience for children and young people and maintain a high standard of individual practice consistent with National Quality Standards.
You will work in a positive, respectful, and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and encourage achievement.
Key Tasks
Safeguarding children and young people
To act in the role as a positive role model and always maintain high professional standards.
To ensure the routine physical care and hygiene of the young people is maintained including appropriate routines, limits, and boundaries for the young people.
To act as good advocates for the young people when the need arises.
Where and when required, as per policy engage in de-escalation techniques with the young people and physical intervention where necessary.
Support and transport young people to and from activities, contact with families and other appointments.
To interact on an individual and group basis with all young people to build up good working relationships.
To ensure high standards of safe working practices are always adhered to.
To actively participate in social, recreational, and educational activities with the young people.
Support young people to develop the self-care skills including encouraging the participation of the young people in the domestic tasks of the home.
To work in conjunction with other professionals within a multi-disciplinary framework
Do you have:
You must have the required qualification which is a minimum NVQ Level 3 /4 Residential care working with Children and Young People in a Children's Residential setting.
Knowledge of children's needs and rights and how these can be best met in a Residential setting.
Ability to demonstrate good childcare practice in your own direct work with children.
Good understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000 and Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015.
Clean driving licence and ability to drive with young passengers.
You will be working within an OFSTED regulated activity and a clear Enhanced DBS for working with children as required.
