We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and maintaining high standards of childcare. The Shift Leader will play a vital part in supporting the team to deliver exceptional early childhood education and care.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support nursery staff during your shift, ensuring smooth daily operations
Lead by example in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
Oversee the organisation of activities and ensure all children's needs are met promptly and effectively
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management regarding children's progress and any concerns
Assist with planning educational activities aligned with developmental milestones
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Manage scheduling, attendance, and record-keeping for staff shifts
Drive company policies regarding behaviour management and child protection protocols
Experience
Proven management or supervisory experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare services
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Previous experience working with children with diverse needs is advantageous
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation duties if required
