Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified SEND Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive high-quality care and tailored educational support. Applicants must possess relevant experience in early childhood education, childcare, or nursery settings, along with strong management and leadership skills.

Duties



Develop and implement personalised support plans for children with SEND, working closely with families, educators, and external professionals. Lead small group activities and individual sessions that promote learning, development, and social skills tailored to each child's needs. Monitor and record children's progress, maintaining detailed documentation to inform ongoing support strategies. Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive environment that encourages participation and confidence among all children. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff or trainees, fostering professional development within the team. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations at all times. Assist with organising transport arrangements if required, including driving children to appointments or activities when necessary.

Requirements



Proven management and leadership experience within early childhood education or childcare settings. Extensive experience working with children, particularly those with SEND or behavioural challenges. Strong knowledge of child development theories, early childhood education practices, and nursery routines. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, families, and colleagues. Valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs. Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent are essential. Ability to work flexibly within a dynamic environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanour. Commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting inclusive practices for all children. Job Types: Temporary, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months

Pay: 12.21-12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
