Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in financial management and accounting practices, with a strong proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable standards. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis. Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to support organisational goals. Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance. Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Farmplan, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.

Person Specifications

Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role within the financial services sector. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft) is essential. Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
