We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our team based at Longridge, Preston. The successful applicant will initiate and control all quality management, quality assurance and quality control measures, ensuring the company's products and services meet internal and external standards, function effectively, and always meet customer requirements. You will manage the on-site QC laboratories on a day-to-day basis to ensure KUK's quality related testing along with other routine tasks are fulfilled. In addition, you will be accountable for the management and performance development of a highly motivated and focused team ensuring delivery of excellent results and customer service.

Hours of Work: 39 hours per week, Monday -Friday.

Mon - Thurs 08.00 - 17.00, Fri 08.00 - 12.50

or

Mon - Thurs 07.00 - 16.00 Fri 07.00 - 11.50

Duties



Compliance



Ownership of all aspects of the internal audit process

Preparation and support of certification requirements for customer audits at customers location

Participate and support with the supplier audit and cross audits within Group.

Review processes, quality regulations, work instructions, forms, and other documentation of the QM system. Ensure that all aspects are maintained, and changes or newly identified measures are successfully implemented.

Coordination and participate in investigations from internal / external sources. Ensure investigations are clearly documented following existing process (weak point analysis), identifying improvements whilst resolving complaints. Ensure use of common quality tools (8D, 5W, Ishikawa, FMEA, APQP, etc.)

Regular reporting to Director QM-Group about:

Development of process indicators. int./ext. Complaints, CIP, FMEA, state of audit measures. Relevant quality projects / activities at the site. Analysis and merging of data in preparation for the management review of the sites. Provision of different evaluations.

Performance and Routine Management Responsibilities



Management accountability of the QA and QM team

Ensure continual development of QC staff increasing product knowledge and customer application.

Assist in the preparation of project-related quality documentation (for example QV04, QV47, QV22, APQP etc.)

Chair quality control meetings, ensuring output is documented and reviewed.

Undertake customer visits to support the Sales Key Account Managers and develop a wider understanding of the customers' requirements and product applications.

Work with the production teams to define and establish clear and consistent processes to monitor, support and report any necessary information to key stakeholders.

Ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) (personal and team) are understood and treated as a priority, with regular reporting through the year ensuring delivery with the aim of exceeding each specific target.

Act as an ambassador for the business and develop mutually beneficial working relationships that are built on trust, professionalism, and respect.

Train and educate team members of the specialist departments on Q topics.

Support the laboratory capital investment budget planning.

Responsibility for calibration of equipment across site.

Attend other Group locations as required for training or meetings.

Oversee apprentice development on-site ensuring they meet required standards to achieve qualified status.

Skills



Significant experience of working in a quality management role within a complex manufacturing environment.

Experience of leading and managing a team.

Certified ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor.

Ability to influence and communicate to all levels of the business through written and verbal means including presentations, individual and team meetings.

A sense of self awareness and ability to apply emotional intelligence.

Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent attention to detail

Desirable background experience:

Quality experience from working in the Automotive or Aerospace industry is preferred.

Certified IATF 16949:2016 lead auditor.

A recognised qualification in lean manufacturing such as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
