Job Description

Purpose of the role:

The Quality & Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the company's quality standards and continuously improve their processes. This role focuses on supplier quality assurance, development initiatives, and driving improvements in product quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Main Tasks:

Develop and maintain supplier quality standards and requirements. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. Manage Internal ISO and ATEX audits from external bodies. Manage customer audits and assessments. Manage supplier corrective actions and monitor effectiveness. Work with suppliers to implement continuous improvement programs (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Support new supplier onboarding and qualification processes. Drive supplier capability improvements to meet future business needs. Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer-specific requirements. Liaise with Procurement, Engineering, and Production teams to align supplier performance with business objectives. Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring supplier readiness and quality compliance.
Essential Skills:

Experience in Quality inspection roles in an Engineering environment. Computer Literate with use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams. Experience in supplier quality and development within manufacturing or automotive/aerospace sectors. Knowledge of quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, A3, 8D). Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to travel to supplier sites as required. ISO 9001 auditor.
Desirable Skills:

Experience using MRP or ERP systems would be an advantage Experience of working in a production environment with sand castings
Working hours- Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
