Job Summary
The Quality and Training Officer role is a people focussed position, with wider responsibility for supporting the Practice in its delivery of safe, high quality services. You will also be responsible for ensuring that relevant policies and procedures are updated and cascaded through the organisation, working closely with department leads and staff in delivering training and updates as needed and creating work based activities to help with staff engagement. You will need to be present within the Practice in order to engage and develop good working relationships with all staff groups and ideally have a good working knowledge of the primary care environment.
You will work alongside the Practice Manager to promote positive staff health and wellbeing, ensuring that relevant resources and funded opportunities are cascaded through the organisation.
You will provide administrative support for clinical governance activities, working alongside the GP lead in developing an annual programme, ensuring key information is accessible and available to all clinical staff.
You will take a lead in working with our infection control lead nurse to support audit of cleaning standards, to ensure that premises are properly maintained.
You will report directly to the Practice Manager in carrying out your day to day responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Review, maintain and develop policies and procedures relevant to organisational delivery and establish a robust electronic filing system on TeamNet for all staff to access.
Arrange appropriate staff training and updates and carry out regular CQC awareness checks; attending department meetings to provide training and promote staff engagement.
Prepare all documentation to be kept in a state of 'readiness' as evidence for any regulatory body visits, included CQC inspection.
Ensure staff are up to date with training and development, including all mandatory training, delivering specific training at a departmental level where appropriate.
You will help design and deliver robust induction plans for new starters at the Practice.
You will be the clinical governance administrator, supporting the GP lead in the preparation of topics, speakers, note taking and dissemination of learning points and minutes.
You will lead on collating the clinical and non-clinical audits completed within the Practice and help to identify opportunities that will add to the safety and efficiency of working practices; participating where appropriate.
Under the direction of the Practice Manager and GP Partners, you will work with department leads and staff to take forward practice improvement initiatives, including review of hard and soft data to help inform service changes.
. In collaboration with the Practice infection control lead nurse, ensure good standards of cleaning are consistently delivered in both clinical and non-clinical areas, meeting regularly with the cleaning provider to review performance results and our ongoing requirements.
. Work alongside the Practice Manager to promote positive staff health and wellbeing, ensuring that relevant resources and funded opportunities are cascaded through the organisation. You will help support an open and listening culture, developing ideas and activities to engage staff to promote wellbeing and team working. You will develop opportunities for improved staff involvement and positive team activities.
. Prepare reports as requested for the Practice Manager and GP Partners.
Qualifications
Educated to a high standard, minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grace C / 5 or above) including English and Maths
Customer service / training qualification (or equivalent experience)
Skills and Experience
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on team working
Evidence of leading and delivering training activities
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
Knowledge of clinical systems (ideally including SystmOne) - Desirable
Ability to work on their own and collaboratively as part of a team
Demonstrable understanding of the NHS regulatory and compliance frameworks under which General Practice operate
