Job Description

Brightwell is the primary service provider providing fiduciary management services, member services, operational and secretariat services to the BT Pension Scheme (BTPS) and the complete pensions administration service to the Mineworkers Pensions Scheme (MPS) - two of the largest defined benefit pension schemes in the UK. Brightwell also provides fiduciary management services to the defined benefit section of the EE Pension Scheme (EEPS).

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the quality and reliability of our pension administration systems through comprehensive testing and analysis. Identifying and mitigating risks to system is also a key element to ensure system integrity and effective performance.

Additionally, this role actively supports continuous improvement initiatives within the business to enhance our services to members.

Main tasks & responsibilities:



Support the QA Lead to develop and oversee test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various administration system functionalities. Provide support and oversight for the testing of new and existing system features, including functional, regression, and performance testing. Document and report defects discovered during testing, and work closely with developers to resolve issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and system requirements are met. Support the QA Lead in the provision of analysis and feedback on system performance and reliability. Participate in system design reviews to identify potential issues and improve system quality. Support user acceptance testing and assist users in troubleshooting issues. Maintain and update test documentation and quality assurance procedures. Provide input to the development of the team's activities and processes to help ensure they remain as effective as possible in line with industry best practices and emerging trends in quality assurance.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:



Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies. Proficiency in writing test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Proven ability with functional, regression, and performance testing. Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience:



Experience in pension administration systems or financial services. Knowledge of automation testing tools and techniques. Familiarity with SQL and database testing. Understanding of Agile development practices. Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB)
