The role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. You will form part of a growing team, who will together make a difference to the Defence Sector in providing Assurance and support.

Day to day, you\'ll support the Audit Team within the Central Quality Department in all administrative tasks in their delivery against the audit programme.

  • Responsible for maintaining information held in the audit management system that relates to the Devonport Royal Dockyard Limited (DRDL) audit programme
  • Provide support to Internal Audit Manager and Central Quality Audit team in the planning, implementation and delivery of the DRDL audit programme; to include supporting Lead Auditors for duration of audits
  • Provide timely reporting to the organisation
  • To provide support to the management of audit findings captured on audit management system and engaging with all business areas to ensure their timely close out
  • To engage with the customer and certification bodies for the planning of 2nd and 3rd party assessments of the DRDL Business Management System.
This is a full time role where we offer hybrid working, with a requirement of working on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard 2-3 days per week.

Essential experience of the Quality Assurance Engineer:
  • Experience and knowledge in internal auditing or quality assurance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • To have knowledge of change management, document management and improvement programmes
  • Strong IT skills essential
Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer:
  • To hold or can demonstrate progression towards professional membership (CQI/IIA for example) or be willing to work towards this as part of continuous professional development
  • Minimum of an HNC/HND in Engineering or a related discipline
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
