The role of The Quality Assurance Inspector will independently perform inspections on parts, materials, customer returns and supplies received from vendors, perform in-process production inspections, and ensure products comply with quality standards prior to shipment. Inspector will verify that suppliers comply with company quality program requirements. Issues acceptance or rejection tags based on outcome of inspections, checking with supervisor/manager on more difficult determinations. Follows company procedures to document rejected parts. Initiates routing of paperwork to ensure purchasing, inventory, and accounting records remain accurate.
Our Role
Conducts inspections on first articles, customer returns, in-process, and incoming; completes final inspections, inspects staged products prior to shipments to clients.
Conducts inspections against quality and operations processes such as calibration, verification of batch records, and assures inspection recordings from other areas outside of quality
Initiates and supports in investigations Non-Conformance reports as required.
Supports in material set up in SAP such as processing QM notifications, QIR codes, etc
Generates certificate of conformance and verifies certificate of analysis from suppliers
Attends morning operational meetings and provides concise communication on required topics
Inputs key inspection process metrics for trending and monitoring purposes
Performs accurate physical and visual inspections of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per inspection plans and specification requirements.
Performs product identification and traceability activities.
Reads and interprets specification and drawings.
Works with personnel to resolve inspection and material questions.
Follows all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, and other safety procedures in accordance to the job.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
This is a site-based role, located in Leighton Buzzard. Commutable from Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Luton, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.
What you will need to be successful..
Two-year technical degree preferred, but not required
Two years' experience within a recognized quality program (ISO, ASTM, GMP) a plus.
General computer knowledge required
Must be able to enter information into excel databases, in addition to keeping accurate records.
Familiar with manufacturing environment, inspecting, testing, sampling, and sorting of products/goods being manufactured.
Comfortable with basic machinery and able to learn equipment test procedures where required.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
