Quality Assurance Officer (full Time) (permanent)

Fareham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

At Insensys, we are powering change with fibre optic sensing technology that supports renewable energy and environmental innovation. As we expand to meet increasing global demand, we are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Quality Assurance Officer to play a vital role in upholding exacting quality standards across our composites and products.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with background in operations and passion for high-quality output to join a forward-thinking QHSE team and thrive in identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring our products meet both technical specifications and customer expectations.

What you will be doing

Serve as the first line of defence: identify, resolve, document (per SOPs), and escalate production issues relating to process, equipment, quality, or safety. Work with the QHSE Team to analyse problems, investigate root causes, and implement process enhancements. Draft, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures. Promote disciplined problem-solving and structured issue resolution across functions. Perform routine inspections to ensure production processes and builds align with internal standards and specifications. Promptly address and report non-conformances. Inspect incoming materials against technical drawings and supplier specs; log discrepancies and ensure compliance before production. Isolate non-conforming items; report to QHSE Manager and coordinate corrective actions. Assist in preparing technical quality documentation: PPAP, PFMEA, and other necessary materials. Keep all stakeholders (internal and external) informed and aligned on quality objectives and updates. Be agile in responding to shifting priorities while maintaining excellence. Drive adherence to ISO-aligned Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001). Conduct internal audits and maintain compliance across all processes.

What you will bring

Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or technical role, ideally within manufacturing. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 quality standards. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in industrial settings. Familiarity with composites and fibre optics manufacturing is a strong advantage. High accuracy in quality checks, with strong root-cause analysis skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse teams, working proactively and collaboratively to drive improvements. Proactive and driven, consistently initiating process enhancements and quality improvements.

What you will receive

33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Option to buy up to 3 additional days of leave Private dental & healthcare (increasing with family members based on tenure) Sick Pay (increasing based on tenure) Early finish Fridays (1:30pm) Enhanced pension & 4x salary life assurance Free on-site parking, fruit baskets, breakfast/lunch options Specsavers vouchers, Perkbox discounts, and Bupa EAP support Quarterly lunches, staff events, and volunteer opportunities A strong culture of respect, development, and recognition
