Scope:
This position will be based at MFC International with 2 inspection staff. On occasions you may be asked to assist with production output to achieve targets.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Inspect materials and parts at Goods Inwards as well as in process inspection and end of line to the latest drawings and visual quality standards.
Raise NCR's for non-conforming bought in products and liaise with suppliers.
Undertake internal non-conformance and customer complaint investigations, including writing customer reports using the 8D process, implementing root causes and preventive actions.
Conduct internal audits, raise corrective action reports and assist with completion.
Calibration of inspection and measuring equipment.
Conduct product audits at packing stage to ensure processes are being followed correctly.
Collate data on rework and rejects monthly for the Group Quality Manager.
Update SOP's/SIP's where required and control issue to the shop floor.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree or equivalent qualification in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Quality Inspector/ Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Be able to demonstrate competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience using manual measuring equipment - shadowgraphs, verniers, micrometres, hardness meters.
Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Experience of internal auditing and dealing with suppliers is very desirable.
Experience/knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is desirable.
