Following continued growth, we are expanding our production team and are now seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to oversee quality operations across our Hinckley and Nottingham sites.
The Role
The primary role of the Quality Engineering Manager is to inspect parts and assemblies using CMM machines and is responsible for the technical execution and oversight of quality inspection and assurance processes across both Hinckley and Nottingham sites. This includes hands-on inspection of precision components and assemblies using CMM and other metrology equipment, validation of inspection data, and maintenance of calibration systems to ensure full traceability and compliance with ISO standards. The role involves detailed analysis of quality performance metrics, identification of process variation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to support continuous improvement. The position also provides technical guidance within the Quality Department to ensure consistent inspection methodologies and accurate data reporting across both sites.
Requirements:
Inspect parts and assemblies using CMM machines; oversee and validate inspection reports and documentation.
Manage and oversee daily operations within the Quality Department and Quality Inspection team.
Provide guidance, direction, and training for Quality Inspectors to ensure consistent inspection standards and performance.
Support production teams with NCRs, customer complaints, and quality KPIs.
Maintain and manage calibration systems, ensuring all inspection equipment meets required standards.
Take full ownership of quality documentation, including the Quality Manual, ISO procedures, and related records.
Coordinate internal pre-audits, ensuring timely resolution of any non-conformances.
Oversee and schedule training and competency development for Quality Inspectors, including CMM operation and quality processes.
Support CE and UKCA compliance activities following completion of required training.
Drive continuous improvement projects across both sites to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Provide cover for inspectors and quality engineers as required at both Hinckley and Nottingham locations.
Essential Requirements
Must have HNC/HND/ Degree in engineering.
Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, internal auditing, and compliance.
Hands-on experience with CMM inspection and calibration systems.
Excellent communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance workloads across multiple sites.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and fostering a culture of quality.
Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
