Based in Horwich near Bolton, Supply Chain Management specialists Maxim Industries are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking Quality Inspector on a permanent full-time basis.

Joining our team in the key role of Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting manufactured components and fabrications to customer and/or internally designed drawings.

With your experience and understanding in quality engineering, you will play a vital role ensuring continuation of our excellent production of metal products and will successfully verify machined parts and fabricated assemblies.

In this key position, you'll take an active role in helping ensure that we deliver outstanding quality products into our customer base.

ABOUT THE ROLE:



Reporting directly to the Quality & Technical Manager, as a key member of our Quality team you will follow the Inspection Plan set out by the company and will conduct effective inspections using the equipment available in a timely manner creating inspection reports where required on components and fabrications as they arrive at our warehouse, to ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

As a natural team player, you will have day to day interaction with other members of our quality team along with the warehouse management team and warehouse operatives to ensure that products are inspected in a safe and timely manner.

Arrange monthly internal calibration of measurement equipment to the calibration schedule and maintain the calibration register and records

Ensure non-conforming products are identified, segregated, and reported using our internal systems.

Maintain accurate inspection records--both paper and digital--for internal and customer review.

Support continuous improvement by raising non-conformances and contributing to quality initiatives.

Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities (CAPA)

Participate in internal audits.

Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and external standards (e.g., ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements)

Assist with training on inspection methods when needed.

ABOUT YOU:



Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a metal manufacturing or machining environment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Working knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.

Basic understanding of quality systems and inspection documentation.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized inspection area in accordance with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Experience



Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering or Inspection/Testing (desirable).

Familiarity with CMM operation and inspection software would be advantageous but full in house training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Experience working to ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 standards

Experience:



Minimum 3 years in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Time management and ability to prioritize inspections in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer skills (ERP systems, spreadsheets, inspection software).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year
