Job Description

Overview


We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Inspector who can ensure the quality and safety of products and processes through the application of the Quality Systems and activities to meet the business objectives. Ensure products are built to customer specific quality requirements. Ensure PCBs and unit assemblies are built as per the internal build packages.

Responsibilities



Carry out final product inspection and audit activities as per the defined inspection regime. Carry out the Roving Inspection activities as per the defined inspection regime. Carry out First-off inspection on all the Shop orders in the cell. Entering of defects in the Defect manager. Entering of inspection activities in the inspection log within Defect manager. Closing of Shop orders in the IFS. Moving of product after closure to the relevant stores locations/or next procedure. Ensure shortages are dealt with allowing a job to close. Carry out real-time investigation of quality issues in the cells using 4D/8D reports. Carry out job rotation activities covering all production cells, as per the rotation schedule.

Qualifications

& Experience



A good Electronics/Electrical Background, particularly PCB manufacturing, SMD, cables and electro-mechanical assemblies. Experience of inspecting parts to IPC 610 and 620 standards. Problem solving skills like 8D/4D reports, root-cause analysis, etc. Experience and knowledge of PCB manufacturing - SMD processes and Conventional through-hole. Experience and knowledge of cable manufacturing and electro-mechanical assemblies. Experience of working in an ISO 9001/ISO 13485 QMS. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - mechanical and electrical. Able to understand the basics of technical drawings, measurements, and tolerances. Attention to Detail. Experienced with using MS Excel and other basic software (i.e. ICT-literate) Ability to build good inter-personal relationships Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks. Efficient and organised. A proactive problem solver with a 'can do' attitude. Willing to learn from mistakes and handle constructive criticism positively.

Essential:

A suitable college-level qualification (A-level, BTEC, C&G, NVQ etc.) in a relevant subject. IPC-610 and IPC 620 Certified. Working experience in PCBA manufacturing.

Desirable:

Electronics-based qualifications. CQI - Professional Qualification. Experience of working in the medical sector within ISO 9001and ISO 13485 environment. Internal QMS Auditor to ISO 9001/ISO 13485. Lean manufacturing and six-sigma.
