Join Balfour Beatty as a Quality Inspector at our Painter Brothers Steel Factory in Hereford!

You'll help us achieve defect-free results and uphold the highest operational standards, including expertise in high-integrity coded welding and inspection processes that support world-class factory fabrication.

What you'll be doing



As a Quality Inspector, you will support the wider Quality Team to deliver a wide range of activities to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of our certified BS EN ISO9001:2015 and BS EN ISO3834-2 management systems and product certification BS EN 1090-2 including:


Carrying out Measurement and Visual Inspection (NDT) testing of Welds and report on results. Ensuring defined inspections are conducted and records maintained. Identifying and controlling non-conforming materials and raising non-conformance reports as necessary. Assisting with investigation of root cause to ensure that suitable corrective action plans are developed. Reviewing manufacturing and technical data provided by client, Technical Team, and supply chain. Reviewing Welding Specifications and Product Standards and ensuring that all necessary information and reporting requirements for welding operations are generated and available prior of commencement of work.


Who we're looking for



Previous experience working within a Manufacturing/Construction environment Good communication skills Observant and high levels of attention to detail. Good report writing and numeracy skills. Good IT skills (knowledge of MS Office 365) Self-motivated, able to work independently & ability to work to deadlines.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:


Knowledge of ISO 9001 Knowledge of Fabrication and Welding Techniques. Knowledge of Visual Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection. Understanding of manufacturing processes and process controls Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
