Job Summary:
Quality Inspector
Inspection of incoming goods, raw bar, threaded components, nuts, bolts, washers, and screws, in-process production first off inspection and finished products.
Visual, dimensional and hardness testing to customer requirements; drawings and international standards ANSI, ASTM, DIN, BS etc.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out first off (FAIR's) and in-process inspections as required.
Produce quality (dimensional, visual, hardness) inspection reports.
Carry out final inspections.
Support Production with in-process inspection requirements.
Carry out hardness testing as required.
Carry out goods received inspections upon receipt of deliveries.
Carry out PMI examinations.
Control the release and return of inspection equipment to the shop floor.
Record inspection equipment within the calibration register.
Manage calibration identification of inspection equipment.
Advise quality assurance personnel of calibration requirements of inspection equipment.
Advise quality assurance personnel of any damage to inspection equipment.
Responsible for Quality Inspection housekeeping.
Support Quality Inspection with the implementation of the Quality standards, managements systems and policy & procedures.
Promote awareness for compliance to industry and customer Quality requirements.
Review the Quality Management System through a standardised internal audit process.
Strive to continually improve Quality inspection within the company.
Job Specifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience of directly related Quality Inspection, or relevant role is required.
Experience with a Threaded Fastener background, or with an engineering company supplying a highly regulated industry such as Process Engineering, Oil & Gas or Power Generation.
A role that requires a high level of attention to detail.
Experience with manual metrology, and inspection machines and gauges.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities and changes with professionalism.
Ability to proactively problem-solve.
Adapt to frequently changing schedules and tight timelines.
Work independently, as well as within a team, in a fast paced, customer service driven team environment.
Superior organisation and time management skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Education
Post-secondary certification or training in a related role or industry.
