Sheffield Forgemasters is an iconic steel production and engineering company. A global leader in the designing, manufacturing and delivering of world-class steel forgings and castings.

It is a great time to join Forgemasters, as the business goes through an ongoing period of growth and modernisation after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence In 2021. The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.

Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Quality Manager. This role will involve maintaining and continuously improving the standard of Quality Assurance for Sheffield Forgemasters.

Role Responsibilities

Manage and develop a comprehensive quality management system to ensure compliance with industry standards, and regulations.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish quality benchmarks, performance indicators, and improvement objectives.

Monitor and analyse quality performance, identifying areas for enhancement and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead quality audits, both internal and external, and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.

Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to address quality issues.

Facilitate and provide training to employees on quality principles, processes, and tools.

Promote quality-focus and a proactive approach to preventing defects.

About You

The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.

ISO 9001:2015 Auditor.

Engineering degree or Quality Degree recognised by QCI.

Knowledge of Engineering manufacturing processes, Steelmaking, Casting, Forging, Welding, Machining etc.

Familiarity with problem solving techniques: PARETO; FMEA etc.

Strong people management skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Proficient in using MS Office suite.

Experience working with quality system documentation.

Due to the nature of the role, the ability to travel both in the UK and abroad as required, is essential.

Days/Hours of Work

37.5 hours per week, Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 \xe2\x80\x93 18:00
