Job Description

We have created a role for a Quality Systems Manger for our Teconnex UK Site, located in Keighley, Nr Bradford, West Yorkshire.

The main purpose of the role is to oversee and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 (automotive industry) and AS9100D (Aerospace industry) quality management system (QMS) requirements. The position is a stand alone role and responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality management processes to ensure compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards.

Overview of duties

Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with IATF 16949 and AS9100D requirements. Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action process to identify process and system failures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are met throughout production and supply chain processes. Oversee the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) submissions., checking reports before submission to the customer to confirm accuracy and completeness. Promoting a 'right first time' mentality. Monitor and analyse key quality metrics, including defect rates, scrap levels, and customer complaints, developing standard reporting for weekly review. Manage the document control process, ensuring policies, procedures, and records are properly maintained and updated. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure quality expectations and compliance requirements are met. Lead management reviews of the QMS, identifying opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements. Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in quality management to drive continuous improvement within the organisation.
About you

Ideally, proven experience as a Quality Systems Manager or similar role within automotive or aerospace manufacturing. Or a details Quality Engineer who has involvement with QSM and is your preferred skill set. It is essential that you have a background spent working within a manufacturing environment or Engineering, Automotive or Aerospace manufacturing. It would be advantageous to have either In-depth knowledge of ISO9001, IATF 16949 and AS9100D quality management system requirements. Has led audits (internal, customer, and third-party) and working with regulatory agencies. Essential skills are of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and other quality tools. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
