Kingsway fish it a specialist producer of Hand Filleted Salmon and Trout. With an ever expanding client base our company is growing and we are looking for a new team member.
An opportunity has arisen for a QA Technician to join our team at Kingsway Fish. Duties will include, carrying out all relevant checks, maintaining technical standards, in line with legislation and customer requirements. Ensuring the members of the QA and operations team are also effectively implementing and managing in line with legislative and customer operating standards. Experience in a production setting is ideal and knowledge of quality control would be preferred but not essential and full training will be provided.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
Conducting label / process control audits as required to ensure records are being completed correctly and at the right times as well as raising and issues at the time
Conducting temperature verification checks at various stages of the process ensuring all results are recorded and any corrective actions are completed in a timely manner
Ensure the timely collection of End of Life, Laboratory and taste panel samples are collects as required
Conducting calibration checks and record the results ensuring any corrective actions are communicated and closed out in a timely manner
Conducting pre-operational hygiene inspection and swab's of key points as per schedule.
Conducting GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GHP (Glass and Hard Plastic) audits to ensure any corrective actions required are communicated and completed in a timely manner
Conducting CCP verification relevant to the area being worked in and report any Non-Conformances through the proper processes
Ensure closure of any Non-Conformances raised and proactive prevention of repetition
Conducting equipment checks to ensure any damaged or missing equipment is reported to the relevant departments
'Walking the factory floor' to identify any issues ahead of them arising and taking appropriate action. Dealing with issues as and when required
Quality attribute assessments on finished product to the defined attributes and a specified frequency
Understands the implications of food safety failures and reports these to the Factory Manager
Requirements, experience and person specification - These are advantageous to have, but not essential as training will be provided.
Minimum level 2 Food Safety and HACCP
Previous experience of production in a Fish Production Setting. (Ideally Salmon and Trout)
Understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Good Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel
