Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will carry out non-destructive testing, including dye penetrant, ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing.





You will report directly to the Assembly Manager and indirectly to the Quality Manager. The role also includes in-process and final inspection of painted, manufactured and purchased components to meet customer quality and delivery requirements.




What you'll be doing




Perform non-destructive testing on products by Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle methods Inspecting items to drawing using manual measuring equipment including but not limited to micrometres, Vernier calipers, surtronics, slip gauges etc. Competent use of a Micro-Hite Paint inspection using various methods to assure thickness and adhesion Visual inspection of complete components Final inspection and sign off of components and assemblies prior to despatch General quality support to operational employees when required Perform receiving, in-process and/or final inspection and testing activities Authorise release of product for despatch in accordance with OP16.2 Identification of non-conforming items via the company's NCR system and maintenance of inspection status Recording of quality data where planned by the company To ensure component traceability/identification is present and correct Ensure documentation is accurate and maintained to a high standard To ensure quality system procedures are being adhered to and are operating effectively Ensure 5S principles are applied to QC department and standards are sustained to audit requirements Ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company's Health & Safety Policy

Who we are looking for







To apply, you must be time served in a mechanical engineering discipline with ideally a minimum of 5 years' experience of working in an engineering environment.





You must be to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality plans. You must also be skilled in the use of inspection and test equipment and be capable of being trained to use all equipment. An understanding of non-destructive testing techniques such as ultrasonic, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing is essential, with the ability to be trained to Level 2.





We are looking for someone who has excellent communication, organisation skills, and demonstrates a motivated approach to their work. Being able to work independently as well as part of a team is essential. You must be IT literate with an understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

The hours of work are 37 per week, working a double dayshift system.
