We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor in our Garswood depot, to support our growing Commercial team, this is a fantastic role which will allow the successful candidate to upskill and develop through the company, you will find more details below.

Key Responsibilities




Ensure that the highest levels of Health & Safety standards are maintained. Knowledge of construction methods & techniques. Ensure that all necessary contemporaneous records and documentation are maintained for maximum recovery in the event of Claims preparation and recovery All Quantity Surveying duties including cost reporting, forecasting and measurement of work sections. Assist Bid Manager or Sales Team with the Pre-Contract Commercial process, Bid/ No-Bid, tender pricing and negotiation of subcontract terms and conditions. Where required, Management of the full subcontract cycle Assisting in preparation of loss and damage submissions. Assist in the Preparation of monthly contract review (CVR's) / MMP portfolio review (Long Term Contracts) documents by complete progress updates for the section. In conjunction with the Engineering lead, PM and Construction Lead, production of the forecast final cost for design, labour, plant, materials and subcontracts. Production of monthly CVR's based upon the InSphire delivered cost in accordance with the month end timetable Identify any variances in monthly InSphire delivered cost and the weekly cost reports Integrating with design teams to support in commercial matters and accurate commercial reporting Integrate with the construction teams to support in commercial matters and accurate commercial reporting Advise on contractual implications and intended courses of action. Identification of commercial opportunities and management for margin enhancement Provide early warnings to the Commercial Manager for any cost or programme implications Contract administration ensuring appropriate notices and variations are submitted to protect the company (eg, remeasurement items, Change Control, Compensation Events, Relief Events.) Management of any potential disputes or claims Ensure section works are undertaken within the construction budget / tender allowances. Keeping the Commercial Manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project. Being the project budget holder, to agree a final account within or exceeding the construction budget and profit target. To lead monthly project reviews with support from the Commercial Manager, MP Design Manager, Contracts Manager and Project Manager (if allocated) to assess the Cost / Value Reconciliations (CVR's).



What You Need




Commercial Management, Project Manager or Quantity Surveying Degree Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cardholder 3-5 years' experience working within the construction/civil engineering sector Construction / Civil Engineering Experience of managing construction/civil engineering projects along with client/customer interface Computer Literate
