Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of construction and infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland. This is a key role within the business, requiring strong commercial acumen, contract management expertise, and the ability to work closely with project and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-contract through to final account
  • Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and cash flows
  • Oversee procurement strategies, tendering, and subcontractor appointment
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Ensure robust cost control and value engineering throughout project lifecycles
  • Administer contracts (e.g. NEC / JCT), including change management and risk mitigation
  • Provide commercial advice and support to project managers and site teams
  • Monitor project performance and report on commercial risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and company procedures
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations where required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes and systems
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual management
  • Experience working with NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities
  • Knowledge of NI construction regulations and best practice
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional accreditation (RICS or working towards) desirable
