The Role
We are seeking a skilled, efficient, and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to support the commercial running of the business and help drive future growth. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across both domestic and commercial sectors and be confident working independently within a small organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare clear, precise, and professional pricing documentsand cost plans
Manage budgets, cashflow, valuations, variations, and final accounts
Review, negotiate, and manage contracts and subcontractor agreements
Support business growth by improving commercial processes and identifying new opportunities
Assist with tender submissions for 2026 and beyond* Carry out site visits and liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
Monitor commercial performance across multiple projects
Provide commercial insights and strategic advice to management
Ensure compliance with JCT and industry-standard contracts
About You
Experienced in both domestic and commercial projects* Able to work efficiently*, accurately, and independently Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and commercial strategy
Degree in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline)
RICS membership -- desirable but not essential* Excellent attention to detail, particularly in preparing pricing documents
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and organisational skills
Proactive, commercially minded, and motivated to help the company grow
Competent with Excel, Bluebeam, and/or QS/estimating software* Full UK driving licence required for travel to sites
