to join our Commercial Team at CPS Building Services Ltd, in Over. The successful candidate will manage the financial and contractual requirements across a range of Mechanical and Electrical construction projects. They will play a key role in cost control, application process, variations, sub-contract account management, contract management and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and within budget. This role is 41.5 hours per week; Monday - Thursday 08:00-17:00, Fridays 08:00-16:00.
Main responsibilities will include:
Manage the Application for Payment process, preparing and updating application templates, ensuring they are issued in accordance with the contract
Managing variations and change orders, including pricing up variations, collating supporting documentation and obtaining client agreement
Managing and updating our accounting system from a commercial perspective including variations and applications
Working closely with department project managers providing commercial and contract support, throughout project delivery
Weekly production of FPR's, monitor ongoing project costs and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
Assist with monitoring project progress, recording events, delay analysis and production of L&E and EOT claims.
Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes and assist in procurement and compliance
Assist with assessing and processing subcontractor applications and payment certificates
Preparation and negotiation of final accounts and supporting documentation
Liaise with project managers and site teams to ensure scope clarity
Ensure compliance with relevant contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and legal standards
To be considered for this position, you must have:
Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role with focus on building services
Capable to work productively independently and as part of a team
Proven ability to multi-task in a driven environment and meet deadlines
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related field would be beneficial
Familiarity with industry-standard forms of contract (JCT and NEC)
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite, specifically Excel
Experience working with Sage CRM and Xpedeon would be preferred
Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical installations in construction
