About the Role
TSA Riley is proud to have an envious reputation of working alongside some of the UK's largest retail clients providing a variety of consultancy services such as cost management, project management and sustainability consulting.
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with the ability to work in a client-facing role and manage a portfolio of exciting, fast-paced schemes with one or more or our clients in this sector. You will have had exposure to pre and post contract duties in your prior role and be confident in your abilities to operate in the day-to-day cost management with support from our management team.

For candidates currently working towards their chartership or with ambitions to do so, we can provide you with access to our industry leading APC programme. With over 50 staff currently enrolled we can provide you with dedicated support towards becoming chartered with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Key tasks and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:
Working as part of a team of surveyors and project managers reporting into the Director whilst providing a cost consulting role the client
Ensure the client achieves their stated objectives through close teamwork, proactive cost control and the provision of contractual advice
Attend and/or chair meetings with client
Prepare financial reports
Monitor the communication of a project status
Prepare full tender documentation
Provide advice on contractors, specialists, procurement routes, cost and programme solutions
Provide advice on suitability and preparation of contract documents
Prepare management reports
Monitor performance milestones and deliverables
Administer cost/variation procedures
Carry out full post contract surveying duties including establishing the effect of variations, settlement of accounts and disputes
Provide day-to-day cost management of projects from estimate preparation and cost planning through to final account settlements
Desired qualifications and experience:
A relevant degree or masters qualification in quantity surveying or similar equivalent subject
Prior experience of working within the retail sector of the construction industry, or similar equivalent sector with fast-paced refurbishment and fit-out projects would be advantageous.
The ability to carry out a variety of pre and post contract duties autonomously.
Confident personality with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with our client(s) on a regular basis.
Experience of using CostX software would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
Experience of working with JCT contracts is desirable.
Demonstrable experience of carrying out tendering and procurement processes.
Full UK Driving License is essential for this role as travel will be required to sites not always accessible via public transport. A car allowance will be provided as part of your package.
